This sought-after “Vancouver Special” was in original condition when the clients purchased it in 2020. We peeled back the dated finishes and opened it up to be a more open-concept main floor. The clients’ mid-century aesthetic suits the bones of the home, so we chose finishes that nodded towards their style without being too trendy. We created a long, linear kitchen, choosing an oversized island in lieu of a formal dining room. The space now is an open, light-filled area with distinct spaces that meet the family’s needs.
